WHAT IS SLOW FOOD? AND WHY SHOULD WE CARE?

Our lives are busy, crazy and hectic. Most of us can barely get dinner on the table or complete our jobs or projects on time. Why, then, should we take the time to get involved? Simply put, it is because every person in the world has the right to good, clean, healthy food. That is what Slow Food is about. It is about educating people about where their food comes from. It is about protecting the farmer and the farm from toxins and unfair wages. It is about connecting the farm to the consumer. It is about creating healthy communities. The busier we are, the more important it is to Slow down and move our society away from industrialized food production, away from quantity into quality and into a world of justice, beauty and pleasure.
